Round brushes are named ater the round ferrule. They work as two-in-one brushes, because they have a pointy tip that can be used to create fine strokes, and a wider belly where they are pressed down on the watercolour paper, which creates thicker strokes.
A round can be used in a number of ways such as to fill, to draw, to apply washes, to spot on small amounts of colour from the tip or produce a thin line for detail and varying thick to thin marks by drawing the brush away from the surface. Also useful for filling in large areas of painting.
