April showers bring May flowers, or so conventional wisdom would have us believe. But for those who feel disheartened by flowerbeds still too puddle-muddied to bloom, there’s no need to count the days until May. There are plenty of poems about flowers to keep you satisfied whilst poetry has you covered with a veritable garden of floral verse.

A delicate brushwork executed this lovely small-scale work depicting an expansive river landscape reflecting the beautiful autumn to spring colors seen in the still calm water. Gentle pools of light, as well as changes in the color tonalities of the trees and water from ochers and browns in the foreground, to greens in the middle range eased the transition into depth.
