The best watercolor brushes will allows you to paint with a variety of brushes and paint with a smooth flow. Squirrel hair brushes are very similar to Kolinsky brushes. They all have a pointed tip and thick bodies.
Squirrel hair has an incredible holding capacity so you do not need to keep dipping your brush in the paint or water. And if you squeeze it out, it is great at lifting colour and water off the paper. The very soft hair has the ability to be moulded into a variety of shapes so you can make all sorts of marks and strokes. This natural material is exceptionally soft making the brush very absorbent, not springy, but comes to an excellent point.
